I have been making a trial version of a felt covered photo album. I have made felt covers for books before but this design has the felt attached to cardboard and is bound as three parts. I thought it was going to throw up some issues and it has, all resolvable I think, but worth making this small version first to try out the technique.
Some of the issues are:
Making the felt an even thickness (it is Nuno felt that means it has fabric incorporated so it can shrink unevenly)
Fixing the felt to the cardboard
Making the felt the right size
Finishing the edges of the felt and cardboard
For the binding I have used a silver leather thong. It looks good and is strong enough, but just a little bulky for this small book (16cm x 16cm).

With a bit of tweaking I think the design will work but I'm not entirely sure about mixing the felt with the cardboard. I think a good thick felt would do away with the need for the cardboard and keep the desirable softness with a more suitable binding.
