I have tried to theme my book on something that inspired me or happened that day, but to come up with an idea, design the book and then put it all together can be too much in amongst the normal days activities. It was less stressful when I was making improvements to my Book in a Bag design.
So this week I am going to use each days book as a development towards a new design of book that I have in mind. I will try ideas out rather than come up with a finished piece.
Inspired by the same charity shop find - This book is a visual set of notes of a walk I took on Warkworth beach. The inner leaves are an A3 page folded and cut into an instant book.
Graph paper and labels give it an academic feel.
Part of the weeks work was to develop this design to be made in batches. I had to experiment with glues so the paper doesn't cockle up.
I shall roll on and on, and break upon your lap with laughter.
And no one in the world will know where we both are."
This book was a chore but there are elements I would use again.
The pages are from an old Ledger, I like the mix of stamping styles on the discoloured paper.
I used simple collage and stamps to illustrate a walk I took to Sugar Sands.
I want to develop the idea of personal maps.
